AS of now it takes about 8-10 hops to get to the server. (can't remember exactly Im at work)

But it routes my packets through Texas, out to Los Angeles, and then to Arizona.

Is that where the server resides?

I thought it was in DFW.

Yes the server is in a datacenter in Dallas.

8-10 hops seems crazy for your location, as your aware, I am in upstate NY and have 14 hops with a ping of 62 of course I am on fiber though.

And whats this stuff you call fiber Zeus ? where still running a string line with cans over here .Only the City gets cable all suburbs have to put up with adsl or wireless.

I have 18 hops and ping at 51ms on fiber as well.
