Difference like in Vista 32-64: faster, better

I would suggest not moving to 64bit xp. Way more of a headache then it's worth in most people's cases.

64 bit does take different drivers for devices. Kind of hard to find some of them. So, as 999 said, most people would be best to says where dey at.

Microsoft just throws an extra 32 bits in the box before it ships...

Not necessarily faster or better, just a much larger memory address space, primarily.

I'm running XP 64bit on the new rig and from what I can tell, it seems pretty much the same as the x86 version. In fact, I probably would have gone with the x86 version if it weren't for the 4gigs of ram I have...

There is not a huge differece between the windows x86 and x86_64 except the fact of the 32 vs 64 bit compatability. Windows 64 bit also has still a lot of bugs that need to be worked out. From what i can tell from the bench marks that I have ran in the past theres not that great improvement. Gaming it had only a 1 to 2 fps difference. I have only tryed the windows 64 bit when it was still in beta. I can do some bench marks later if you need to know what the hugh difference is on my mac mini. Yea I know im a Mac Guy. My mac mini is modifyed with the Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 meron.
