first of all...

My Logitech Keyboard Elite crapped out on me, i mean, el shitzo

I was browsin the net, minding my own buisness, when mr. keyboard died. I tried to fix the plug, which sometimes falls out (bad design, heavy plug), but it was in perfectly snug. I tried evereything regarding troubelshooting. Usb rather than PS2 adapter, rebooting a million times, testing all of the wireless crap, but i think i found my problem. All keys work, EXCEPT the important ones, let me show u a pic:


The circeled buttons do not work. The special media buttons are just fine though. This mkes me quit confused. This proves that i have a solid connection, and working drivers. My current theory is a broken component in the keyboard, which just happens to make all of the other standard keys malfunction as well. As of now, i am using this crappy old keyboard from the 90s, and am waiting or a good deal on another nice logitech board (cant stand bad keyboards) anyway......, i just would like to hear ur guys's input.

I had the same keyboard and finally threw it out when it would start typing garbage on its own. I guess Logitech spends all of its money on making great mice, but their keyboards suck.

You more then likely have a key which is stuck down, either the membrane pads have failed ( which no repair) or you have something gooie holding them together ( been surfing porn sites?). You can dissassemble the keyboard and use windex or plain alcohol to clean the "membrane" switches. some keyboard use a momentary touch while others ( which you may have) use the system I just described.

All the keys share a similar trace (typically the ground or return line) while the media buttons have a diff set of traces.
