It's...
THE OHMYHEAD'S (WITH NO ACCESS AT THE MOMENT TO PHOTOSHOP HENCE THE CRAPPY GRAPHIC) ANDROID APP POST #1!!!
Heeeeey! Hooooo! Heeeeey! Hoooooo!
*cough*
Ok, I'm back. Let's get to it. (All of the following are FREE.)
Screebl Lite: I haven't had this long enough to know if it saves battery life or not, but it is designed to know when the phone is laying flat. When it is not flat, the screen will stay active (on). So I've set my Screen time-out to 15 seconds. So now my screen is never on more than it needs to be. I believe Screebl was designed for another purpose, but who cares about dat! :D This runs in the whatever bar up top and glows when the phone is held in such a way as to keep it on.

Fast Call: Launching this brings up the full alphabet. One click away from your intended contact, no more scrolling through "People" or typing in "Search People". This holds one of the 4 coveted spots on my main screen.

Handcent SMS: This is a wickedly customizable texting client. Miles cooler than the stock. It also holds one of my top spots on the home screen.

Laputa Book Reader: This library on your hip sports access to Blazer online books (among many other sources). The selection is AMAZING. All the Dune books, Resident Evil, Dexter, etc. are available, all free, using Laputa. Laputa rides up front as well. Oh, and the stock Calendar app rounds out the big 4. :)

Multicon: Speaking of space on your screens, need more? The Multicon widget condenses icons. (What's a widget?, asks the iPhone user. Don't worry about it.

) You could technically have 64 icons on one screen using this. But mostly, it's for placing 4 apps in the same space as 1. There are other apps that do this, but this one is fully functional and FREE.

Turtle Photoframe: With 7 screens on my Incredible, I sometimes have trouble filling them all up with useful stuff. So for one of my screens, I park a Turtle Photoframe. It takes up the entire screen (smaller sizes available) and shows photos from any folder I specify. You can set it to do a slideshow and for how long each pic shows, or set that to zero and touch the screen to change the pic.

Alarm Klock and Better Alarm Clock are both good alarm clocks with the ability to create multiple, repeating alarms as well as choose any sound you wish for the alarm. Alarm Klock wins for me because...well, just because. Try them out and see how you feel about it.

Bump: Got a mouthy, smug bastard of a friend with an iPhone? Still want to give him your contact info easily? Load up Bump and touch his wretched device with your awesome device and your contact info will transfer right on over. (Then, dip your phone in disinfectant and call your carrier to have your number changed.)

Desktop Visualizer: Don't like the stock icon for the Flashlight App? With Desktop Visualizer, you can use that photo of you in college that time you drank too much Jager and put a flashlight in your butt to launch your flashlight app!

Retro Camera: This app sports 4 different cameras, each providing pretty cool effects, or as the description says, "take delicioius old-school pics your friends will drool over".

Camera 360: A confusing app, it does have "scenery mode" which includes a few masks you can inject your photos into. A little futzing around and I bet we can make us some better masks for this. The painting guy one puts your shot on his canvas and converts the photo into what looks like a painting. Cool!

PhotoFunia: Another app with masks, there are a lot more on this one. Putting your shot on a large billboard with guys posting it up there is a favorite of mine. LOTS more here. Applies these effects to existing photos as well.

SpyShot: Are a sneaky old perv? Is someone showing their panties on the bus or at church? Want to keep that vision alive forever? Launch SpyShot. It will turn off your camera's shutter sound and flash as well as totally blank your screen. You need only touch the screen to take the photo. Naughty, naughty, naughty, you filthy old sumka! The size and quality of the pics kinda suck, but eh, it's free.

Mobisle Notes: There are lots of To Do apps and notes and lists, etc., but I like this one best. It creates checkboxed lists as well as straight text notes. Keep bus routes, recipes, To Do lists, ideas for what to post later in the BBA Forums, whatever. There is a backup utility included. This one does not have the ability to attach photos to your notes. A neat idea but I find it unnecessary.

Safe Neighborhood: Bored? Want to fuh-REAK OUT when you find out how many child molesters live within a mile of your home and your kids? This app is for you. Mugshots included! Dale?? Billy??? Mrs. Bucharelli!!! OMG.

Shazam: Ya know how every once in a while you hear a song playing in a store or at a bar and you can't recall who sings it, or you want to know who does do you can run out and steal it? Launch this app and let it listen to the song for 15 seconds. It will tell you who it is, what album it's on, tour info, etc. 5 freebies a month! So far it hasn't been wrong for me. The app claims to be 80% accurate.

And finally, for you musicians and musician wannabes...
Guitar Solo Lite: Learn to play the guitar! Or at least, learn how to play the beginning of Stairway to Heaven or 2112: Discovery on your phone.

xPiano: You know you want to learn to play that bitchin' keyboard part from Boston's "Smokin'"...on your phone. Amaze your drooling friends!

Happy downloading/installing/uninstalling, my BBA bruthas and sistas!
p.s. I just saw this yesterday and had to have one. Cost me $19! Had to get it from the UK. D'oh! Not wild about the shape, either, but...man I have hat issues.
