Sea Kittens

Post by KrispyKritter » Sat Jun 12, 2010 9:32 am

I ran across a reference to this on the Urban Dictionary site and thought it must be some sort of joke. PETA wants to influence people to not eat fish by renaming them 'sea kittens' and offers free banners, wallpapers and avatars:

I have no idea just how tongue-in-cheek this is. http://www.peta.org/sea_kittens/

And for BBA's very own TrukkerDongen, Urban Dictionary has "Trucker Hats", with 10% discounts for 11 - 25 hats! Many other Sea Kitten items are for sale!

hmmmmmmmmmm!
Maybe you should use this link (from the referring page) --- http://www.urbandictionary.com/products ... rucker_hat
and not this address from the actual Trucker Kitten hat page --- http://www.zazzle.com/custom_urban_dict ... 9903074104
Oddly enough, if you use the direct link or just refresh the Trucker Sea Kitten Hat page, you will get a "Trailer Fraud Trucker's Hat" instead! Guess it has to do with their scripts.

(* Yes, it does. They seem to offer to print every word or phrase in their dictionary on a standard set of t-shirts, hoodies, hats, etc.
'l33t' hat --- http://www.urbandictionary.com/products ... rucker_hat
'BBA' hat --- http://www.urbandictionary.com/products ... rucker_hat
I seem to get easily sidetracked.

So shall we start in conjunction with this, renaming our domestic cats to ribeyes?

Thought this was an interesting quote.

• "We're now finding that [fish] are very capable of learning and remembering, and possess a range of cognitive skills that would surprise many people."
—Dr. Theresa Burt de Perera, Oxford University

If you have every kept Oscars as pet fish... then you already know this. They recognize me compared to other people. And they even know when I'm grabbing food from across the room and start hitting the top of the water.

But if I was hungry and there was a pond full of Oscars... then game on!

Do you reckon they're gonna make a branded version of that classic flash game? You know, something in the style of "Sea Kitty Cannon"...
