Issues with ET launching

Post by Digger » Sat Feb 25, 2017 7:59 pm

Lost most of my C drive this morning...trying to get this running. Downloaded ETLegacy and can play offline, but when I try to join the BBA server, it seems like it's downloading files and then it crashes and says it's missing some "UI_mp_x86.dll" or something like that. Tried a couple fixes I found online such as running as administrator, etc. but nothing is working. I'm running Windows 8.1... :chin:

I would say uninstall and reinstall the game first.

I got my copy from here: http://www.splashdamage.com/content/wol ... y-barracks

Maybe that would work better for you?

Figured it out...found that .dll file in another folder in the ET Legacy folder so I just copied it to all 3 folders. Dunno why it wasn't in the correct folder, but once I did that, it launched fine. Then to get Teamspeak to work, I had a have another .dll, which was part of a windows update that got deleted, but in order to install that update, I had to have a previous update installed, but to install that one, I had to have a previous update...yadda yadda yadda...I hate computers.

yeah, I posted the same solution on the FB page...for some reason the dll is not copied from the legacy folder to the folder of the mod name.

Ahhh...thanks Swatt. I'm not on FB so I wouldn't have seen it.

When you get it running and try to connect to the server, it should download the Jaymod files automatically, so let's concentrate on getting the game running first. Are you using ET Legacy? When it's crashing out, what is the error window telling you?

Okay, I created "jaymod" folders and downloaded the jaymod folder and copied it to the folder and it now works. Thanks for the help.
