Yes all the new Iphone users will be glad to find out, you must now follow apples instructions on how to hold your phone or your calls drop due to lack of signal, oh you can also buy a special case to fix this as wel... :lmao:

*disclaimer - I hate Apple and everything to do with it, no exact reason, just because.

I went to see the iPhone amidst all the hype, had to sneak in under the pretense of buying an iPod Touch because they weren't letting any iPhone lookers in the store lol. That phone dissappointed me. Good video and camera quality but otherwise it doesnt have the X factor the previous iPhones had!

!D

Mine doesn't have this issue. I think it only affects those that don't have great reception to begin with.

Now that's a sad damned sight.

Toyota have to make a public apology and recall thousands of cars into garages to have a small metal plate put under the accelerator, but apple make a basic electronic design fault (bridged connections) and they say "It's your fault because of how you're holding it." That's like Toyota saying "It's you're fault because of how you're driving it." and to throw some salt in the wound, they say "Oh, we can fix it though, if you BUY a case for it". Considering all the current contempt circulating about the iStore software application process, you'd think they'd be a little more compassionate towards their customers a time where they're being ostracised for lack of understanding of social desire, and given that they're currently having some stern competition with Android phones, this may be another critical nail in the coffin for the iPhone market share.

When I hold mine normally.. I can watch the bars disappear one by one.

Set it down... they come back.

oh dear.

but don't let anyone kid ya about the retina display

my 3gs looks blurry compared to the 4

the picture and text quality is amazing

And I actually like the feel of it.. took a bit to get used to after the rounded 3gs..

But it's very well done... cept for that damn antenna which Zeus happily pointed out! :wtg:

I did buy my wife the new EVO last week.

So I'm used to the apple v droid debate.

It goes on in my household almost daily!

Only Apple would have the balls to make such a design error and then blame people for the way they are holding the phone AND offer to SELL you a case to fix it.

Obviously nothing against you Sissy ( I dislike you for other reasons besides being an Apple fanboy :lmao: ) but each and everytime the Apple gods roll out something new, all the drones line up around the block to drink the apple cool aid.

If we can't poke fun at each other here, then where can we do it?

Oh yeah... Oh the servers!

And damnit! I'm no fanboy. It's only my 3rd apple product.
1. A tiny ipod.
2. the 3gs, I owned less than a year
3. This "phone" that has some really great features. Calling and keeping a network connection while holding the phone.. not one of those features.
(And I will take it back before I buy a $30 bumper.) Maybe they will give me one for free?

Check out these photos: (working on uploading them)

I did a speed test with the SpeedTest ap.

The first test I did with my iPhone 4 laying on my desk. Notice the network bars on the top left.

Test 2 - I picked up the phone and held it in my hand for thirty seconds.

Notice the bars in the left hand corner.

**Note**I did have to hold the phone flat in my hand (no covering of the "antennae") just to get the test to start. But once a test server was found I held the phone like a normal person would. I.E. I covered parts of the antenna with my hand.

Now the results of test 2, phone in hand.

And finally a pic of a summary of all the tests I ran.

Notice, each one with no result for upload speed and very slow download speeds were all tests I did with my awesome iPhone 4 in my hand.

Ugh.. such great potential.

How the hell can Apple put out a phone that can't make/get calls or data while holding it in you hand?

That's NUTS!

And I had to do just one more test.

Holding the phone.

Here's the result this time:
