Buffalo Bad Asses

Hi fraggers, sorry been away a while, I had successive BSODs and then final crash, and the ***ing rig has been at the repair man seems like forever! I am jonesing badly, and only survive with Howard Stern on the laptop!

So today the repair man, who says he is a gamer, said that he can't get XP to install..he is supposed to be upgrading my PC to a gaming unit on the cheap, well 500 Euros budget..originally he said use XP as best for gaming.

Can youse guys advise me asap if ET and Left4Dead etc will run ok with Vista or 7? Would you recommend 7 over Vista or maybe vice versa?

Windows 7 apparently has an XP mode (run things in XP).
So I'd go for that.

Don't blame me if it sucks as much as vista..

It's really simple: 7 > Vista > XP. The problem with Vista is a majority who wants everything for free, a higher price than XP, and slander.

7 is your best bet, and being a former-Mac owner, you'll be better with Win 7 over Snow Leopard, plus you'll have more compatibility with more hardware/software for more years to come.

WIN 8 sucks from a Tech point of view, meaning me. My wife wanted the latest and greatest sooooo I got her 8, it drives her crazy...told her don't come to me for help.

Win 8 make my computer blow up and pieces go everywhere. Small fire and my dog was killed.

Have had absolutely zero problems with 7. From the previews that I've seen of 8 ....I'll stick with 7.
