Immortals (No, the OTHER Immortals)

Post by OhMyHead » Tue Feb 28, 2012 12:29 am

Sup, fellaz! Hey, I am at my wit's end trying to find out who does this song!

It's the end credits to 1995's "The Immortals" starring Eric Roberts, Chris Rock, Tia Carrera, and many others.

I have been everywhere. I have enlisted help from everyone. No one knows. Not the answer nerds on Yahoo, not the movie hounds on IMDb, not the random jerkoffs on YouTube. No one knows. I'm almost convinced that if I somehow got in touch with anyone of importance on the movie's crew, THEY wouldn't know, either.

I have ruled out all the songs listed on the soundtrack. Oh yeah, the company that released the soundtrack? Out of bidness. So WHY do I want to know so badly? Because I have never had this much difficulty running something down online. Ever. Hell, I even got in touch with a band that has two songs on the soundtrack, and they have long since broken up and then got back together under a new name! They listened and were sorry to report that it wasn't them, and they don't know who it is, either.

So. BBA. Old friends. Is there some sliver of hope that one of you knows who it is who performs the song in this clip? :music1:

I looked for about an hour or so today. I coudn't find a thing. Except for other posts of people asking the same question. NO answers on those posts either.

I wish I could understand more of the words.
That might help.

Good luck on your quest.

Hey, thanks for trying! It's very frustrating. And yeah, a lyrics search would be sweet. Oh, I forgot to mention, Shazam and Soundhound are clueless, too. lol

Yes it is. Fun to investigate! Shazam was my first try.. NO LUCK there either.

hahah

Can you piece any of the lyrics together?

I listened to it like 10 times, and now I want to know too!

I guess I'm in the same boat now!

I am pretty sure I've done this before, but I went in with fresh ears and did it again. Here are the lyrics I could understand. Mostly.

Oh she's longing to find a way,

a perfect world

(something about the moon)

I can fly

So I crave, but I won't, not yet

to feel the same

until we mend

In the morning, the duel begins

feels within

I'm not ready to take her out this way,
I'm not ready to make her mine this way,
I don't want her to know before I answer every doubt I've ever ____

Don't hurt your head, Him-Again! It's ok. I appreciate your help anyway. I surely hit that soundtrack first. I spoke with two guys formerly of The Immortals (the band) and they confirmed the song isn't theirs. I then went and found audio/video of each of the other listed bands and none of them could ever be mistaken for our mystery song's performers. So the end credits song isn't on the soundtrack, or isn't listed on IMDb as being on it because IMDb doesn't have a clue who this is, either.

I really don't see what else I can do other than run down crew members from the movie, somehow get their email addresses. Hell, I'd show up on their doorsteps if I thought I could get some answers. I live close enough. :D

Did you leave a message at the tribute Facebook for Claude Gaudette:

http://www.facebook.com/ClaudeGaudetteTributePage

who is in the credits after the Second Unit as,

Music Produced, Recorded and Performed by
Claude Gaudette
and whom Imdb lists as 'Original Music'.

You can also check the "sound recordist's" listed on imdb.
===========
A new thought: I wonder if you could record the audio and then use a cataloguing program to find the info on it. I vaguely remember hearing about programs that would take unnamed songs and search for similar sounds on the Interent.

Like this one: "TuneUp is able to intelligently fix your music library using cutting-edge acoustic fingerprinting technology, which evaluates the song's digital DNA and references it against Gracenote's MusicID™, the world's largest database of music metadata.", but that's a $ program.
