I have no idea mav rocket man.
I know it is one of Sissyboys pet hates ( people smurfing )

We might have to see if Bloodbane can look into turning it on for us.
Then Mav can tell us how to check on these smurfs :wtg:

It is a PB setting. I can't speak to its value one way or the other. If we aren't having an issue with folks cheating on the server I'm not about to fool with it and cause issues though.

It is my opinion that give the possibility to a player to play hidden knowing that no one can know who is actually, is NOT helpful to stop bad behavior, and this not only covers the cheaters (those who feel more comfortable with several accounts), but many other players who all they do is mess the game and / or impersonate other players

The only positive side of not knowing who is who, is there will be more players playing on the server because all the scum will come to play here without anyone knowing who they are.

But your server, your rules. I respect that.

For Smurf checkin, there are 2 PB commands (Use the console)
pb_plist
pb_alist n (where n is the slot number listed with pb_plist)
(remember there are a bug with slot 24, player in this slot could not be scanned)

Another form of checking smurf is using the little appl LNAYawn
http://forums.warchest.com/showthread.p ... experience!

But all of this need to be enabled in the server config

As far as I'm concerned its up to the members who play ETQW daily. I personally have no opinion on the subject and just push the buttons :lmao: Gentlemen, your thoughts?

I dont care to much about smurfs.
I gather if someone comes on under another name and acts the same as he did under the name we kicked him on,Then it wont be long before we kick his new name as well.

That was my read on it as well. Also, BBA mod works with ID numbers a bit differently than stock ETQW so a ban on our server should be quite permanent.

Well,
If any of the BBA Admins wish, I can give you my updated smurfs list exported directly from the application LNAYawn (Buton Open List --> Export current list), simply ask me by PM.

Today I see playing in BBA some extrange names, created to allow easy smurfing like "Baiker-" who some of his real account names are:
"-A"
"er-"
"on_"
"H1T3"
Bruce."

We don't have a server policy on Smurfing, although I make no secrets about my distaste for the practice...it provides an easy vehicle for a player to act poorly and irresponsibly. Before leaving the server last night I spec'd Baiter, and found no reason to suspect any fowl play. He made smart choices, and never rushed his intentions...if he had any help, I couldn't see it in the 10 minutes I watched.

I like to kick smurfs. I always assumed it was turned off in the beginning for BBA admins who were smurfing to check on player behavior. I have no problem with turning it on. I actually would prefer if it was in place.
