CTF Toxic Beta 3

Post by septime » Mon Apr 26, 2010 4:06 pm

It is a Capture The Flag Map.

The team with the most caps, when the time runs out, WINS.

You can only gain a point by bringing the enemies flag to your own.

If your teams flag has been taken by the enemy, you have to return it before you can make a point.

Now, it is time to give some input

Looks like you are not really enthusiastic about this map. Are you afraid of all that acid ? :chin:

Anyway, nice map with some good stuff (scoreboards, voice, cheers bind, immediate death when you fall in the acid...).

Could have some great battles in the hallways and the middle of the map where many people will fight.

Maybe, 1 or 2 CP and side spawns (like in BBA CTF) could give more fun.

People like to complain, not participate in helping to fix or make it better.

If we add the map and they dont like it they'll all be sure to tell you so in the server.

I like the map. I think we need more dual objective maps... :wtg:

Did this replace Facility? Because if it did, I just might have to kiss you sep... :goodman:
Arguing with an admin is like shaking your fist at God. There's nobody there; and if there is, he's not listening. And if he's listening, all you're doing is pissing him off..

Map: I love it. I'd keep it forever and genius stroke swapping it for toxic facility. The irony is not lost on me.

Pros
-Nice variable paths. Loads of ways of getting from one flag to the other.
-Lots of hotspots for concentrated fire and carnage.
-(IMO) The acid rocks, this can be great as a quick self kill method with full charge restoration if used skilfully.
-Nice world detail, obscuring some areas and funnelling others, the maker obviously thought about line of sight while making this one.
-Trickjumping around the map is amazing, you can build up some sick speed and when moving through acid areas, you have to be damned careful, separating the frogs from the rabbits so to speak.
-The woven nature of the paths mean that it's easy for both teams to set up bottleneck ambushes practically anywhere.
-The even terrain makes those high accuracy players even more deadly. You can wipe out a 4 man blockade in a single clip with a few bullets to spare. Lots of fun.

Cons
-No real ranged fire situations. Everything is quite close quarters so you're never really "caught out in the open".

All in all, 9/10 for me. One of the best maps I've played yet.

Excellent review Clap. :hail: :wtg:

I agree with you. About the cons, I would add : 1 or 2 Command Post to have more fun. :wtg:

Command posts can be added via scripting which does not involve redoing the map but simply adding the additional script to the game server.

Too complex for me to post how, but Jaymod works along the line of the ETPro scripting which is widely found via Google.

FYI, I am working on that right now due to some arm twisting by Septime. I am assuming a single neutral CP would be in order? Or would you guys want two CP's?
