It seems that many HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention System) application has a tendency to load a control .dll into every application that starts that is part of the protection system, so a host of applications can cause this problem. HIPS are sometimes packaged into firewalls and antivirus programs. This includes Comodo's D+ system and other stand alone HIPS like EQSecure.

The only method of getting around this is to disable your HIPS app and restart the computer with it disabled.
I wonder how EvenBalance could get around this. Maintain a database of HIPS modules and run checksum or md5 or somesuch on them to ensure cheat-writers don't just copy filenames? Would seem to add a lot of work for them and some overhead for us.

That would be a good idea but I doubt even balance would spend enough time maintaining the list as newer updates are brought out for the HIPS system and unlike myself, most people allow updates to run on a schedule so as soon as they get an update, pb will start kicking them again...

:wall: Hey you all. I was having trouble with pb kick 120135 restricted program driver too. I tried all the basic things, updating pb, diasabling my steam overlay etc to no avail. Finally I added another hard drive to my PC. I am running win xp home sp3, Asus P5Q quadcore with Ati Radeon 5700 series video card. I installed win xp sp2 on the second drive and just the basic drivers no extra programs. Reinstalled ET from scratch and did not use my key. It worked. So I added win updates (including sp3) and driver updates separately and checked to see that the game was working after each update. Then when I tried to install my antivirus bitdefender antivirus 2010 the pb kick error was back. I uninstalled Bitdefender and now all is right with the world again.
I hope this thread will help those who still can't play.

This is just another HIPS system that injects a .dll into every executable memory space on execution, making the PB services see that they are running with an unknown .dll injected.

PB thinks this is a hack but can't be sure, so it kicks you instead of ban.
